Full-Time Student Application Procedures

 Enrollment for the second semester of the 2012-2013 school year is open from Dec 1 to January 18, 2013 for middle and high school students. 2012-2013 Broward Virtual School Enrollment Timeline


Dec 1 to Jan 18


Online application is open for prospective students in grades 6 through 12. Per Florida Statute 1002.45, the application for students entering grades K through 5 closed on July 20. Students must reside in Broward County in order to be eligible for enrollment.


Dec 10 to Jan 25


Registration window for accepted students (students / parents will be contacted with an exact orientation date and time). New student orientation will begin in January. New students and parents/guardians must attend an orientation session prior to becoming a full-time Broward Virtual School student.

  • Becoming a full-time student at Broward Virtual School means that you are interested in earning a Broward County high school diploma or enrolling in our full-time elementary or middle school program.
  • Full-time students are subject to Broward County School Board policies regarding pupil progression.
  • Full-time BVS students work on their courses from home or any other remote location, but are not registered as home school students with Broward County Public Schools.
  • Full-time elementary school students may choose courses facilitated by a Broward Virtual School teacher or a K12 teacher. Middle and high school students may choose courses facilitated by Broward Virtual School teachers or Florida Virtual School teachers.
  • Students in middle or high school grade levels who are currently registered with Broward County as home school students and choose to keep home school status may take courses at BVS but should not fill out the full-time application.
  • Private school students who seek part-time enrollment at BVS should not fill out the full-time application either.

* Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment at Broward Virtual School. Students must meet criteria for full-time enrollment in order to be accepted.

Important notes:

  • Accepted applicants will be contacted via e-mail to attend a BVS student orientation / registration appointment.

  • Students new to the Broward County Public School system must bring specific documentation for registration as required by school board policy.  A list of required documents can be found at http://www.browardschools.com/info/register.htm
