Research shows that parent involvement is the single most important indicator of school success. The School Board of Broward County has identified “Empowering Parents and Community Through Participation” as a major system priority as outlined in policy 1165. Broward Virtual School encourages parent and community involvement through the School Advisory Council. The School Advisory Council (SAC) is an advisory organization that actively participates in the preparation of the school budget and school improvement plan.
